General Information
The INSTRUCTION BOOK is the keystone of the FRAME DRUM LIBRARY and prize-winner of the BEST EDITION AWARD 2012. For centuries the framedrum has been played with enthusiasm all over the globe. However, so far there has not been a systematic instruction book in terms of a comprehensive instrumental study. Five years ago the musician and author Torsten Pfeffer started to work on this complex project, fascinated by the richness of sound and its seemingly unlimited implementations. Finally the INSTRUCTION BOOK was published as the major part of the FRAME DRUM LIBRARY. The user will now find a clear systematic, complete note material and inspiring compositions that convey whatever is necessary on the way to profession and virtuosity.

Author's Comment
In the first place I wrote this instruction book for myself. I so much wanted to learn frame drum but there wasn’t much helpful working material. So I wrote exercises and pieces myself and came up with a course of instruction. In the end I divided it all into five books of which this one is the main element. Herein all the numerous exercises that I wrote to internalize certain techniques are collected and arranged. All my reflections on playing techniques are now systematized and revised to a clear conclusion. Thus, this book is my answer to the question: How can I learn frame drum – in my classical understanding?
I hope to provide you with a helpful material to advance in performing your own music on that great instrument.
